The Age of Emergency
I am not sure if you have noticed the changing trends like I do. I perceive life in a most unusual way. I look at life and living very simply. In today's age, no matter what television program you watch, not what newspaper you read, nor the magazine that you pickup, you will notice that they are all filled with emergency statements. You had better watch your diet, or you will die. You had better talk with your doctor, before its too late. You better keep up with the current events of life, or you will simply be missing out.
I choose to miss out on life. I do not cloud my mind, or my thinking with the little details. You know little details are everywhere. What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? Where will we go? What will we do? The mass of men lead lives of desperation is a familiar quote from Henry David Thoreau. You know, old Hank was right on the money with that statement. He saw the need to simplify life and living. This goes right along with the concept that I am developing called Living Greener Lives.
When you begin to under complicate your life, a few amazing transformations will begin to take place. Suddenly, you will find that you no longer require stuff. The meaning of stuff is anything that is NOT needed. I have found that by eliminating my stuff, I am able to think clearer and pursue the important things in life. I am able to pursue my chosen path writing to a much larger degree. I no longer am bound by conventionality, but rather have renewed purpose each and every day that I have to live on this planet.
I feel absolutely no need to keep up with the Joneses. I do no need, nor want what the Joneses have. I need very little to live an amazingly free lifestyle. I simply work in my Good Business, pursue my career in being a powerful search engine master on Google, harm no one and live life on my terms, not on the terms of anyone else.
I am beginning to see the clear need for this spirit of renewal. You can go to any city throughout the US today, and go to the most rundown neighborhoods and what will you find? You will find that these people have more stuff than anyone else! Its a given that poor people buy stuff, while the wealthy people buy assets. Does a person really need to have four broken down vehicles? They are thinking that these are prized possessions, and will be collectors items someday. In all actuality, they are just junk. They are just more stuff to cloud people's thinking.
Have you ever noticed that people are striving and struggling to get more money, so that they can get more stuff? If you had all the money in the world, how much stuff could you buy? Would it buy you peace? Would it buy you a sense of purpose? I think not.
I say enough of the emergency mentality found in the world. I say its time to rethink our positions, visualize exactly what we wish to accomplish, stay away from the medical profession totally, never listen to the bad news of the world and begin to live the inspired lives that our creator has given us each and every moment of every hour of every day that we have.
There is no emergency to living. We are so accustomed to hearing sirens, whistles and paying attention to all the bad things that are happening that subconsciously we get sucked into that scheme of living. We cannot make a move without talking to our doctor. Do you realize that your doctor is just some trained animal that might know a little about treating symptoms, but in all actuality, they are probably the least likely people to tell you how to live? They know that certain things cause certain illnesses, but do they really understand that each of us has the gift of healing right within ourselves? Tell that to Pfizer and see what sort of response that you get!
We all live in a hazy mixture of freedom and restriction, guilt and innocence and are really bound only by our thinking. In my personal opinion, what we think is what we become. Without a doubt this has proven itself time and time again. You see, there is really nothing new in the world. It is simply the way that we all think about the world that produces the problems.
My opinion of green living is probably somewhat different than most people's. I am not going to try to save the planet. I am not going to save the whales, nor save those whales. I think that George Carlin said it best of all. "The earth is not going anywhere folks. WE ARE! So, pack your bags and get ready to make the journey!" Think about this when you begin to get overrun with thinking about your stuff. If you pack less when you get ready to leave this planet, you will be freer to move about in the universe. For me, this is my point to Living Greener Lives!
